I try to teach because it makes me a better doctor, and because I want to honor my grandparents- retired teachers who moved from India and helped bring me up. I was their last student, and they were my first teachers- the best I could have asked for.

Happy to say that I matched at @UCSDsurgery for my Cardiothoracic Fellowship in 2023! (Because General Surgery wasn't painful or long enough for me). Grateful for all my mentors and training @BCM_Surgery and @Texas_Heart, and looking forward to a few years back on the West Coast-.

Did not realize how the RVU system potentially shortchanges acute care surgeons. Interesting read @aribindi @AdilHaiderMD is there anything coming down the pipeline to correct this?.Does RVU-based compensation short-change the Acute Care Surgeon?

Thought provoking perspective by @IEMcElroy @MGHSurgery. When I interviewed at surgery programs in 2016, I often wondered why I did not see many minorities in leadership positions. Today, I find some comfort in that we are slowly but surely moving in the right direction.
Dear residency program directors (especially surgery program directors), please read the essay written by @IEMcElroy, a trainee in one of the most competitive programs in the country. #SickAndTiredOfBeingSickAndTired.
