The day I realized I was spending more time going to conferences to learn how to be Medicare compliant than I was spending on how to be a better surgeon was the day I started planning my clinical retirement. That was 11 years ago. Regulating doctors kills patients.

This is the direction we should be moving. Empower people, increase choice, remove barriers. The more freedom consumers have, the more affordable healthcare becomes.
Obamacare destroyed real choice and sent premiums soaring. Doubling down on subsidies won’t fix it. My Health Marketplace & Savings Accounts for All Act empowers consumers. It will legalize national buying co-ops and allow every American to have an HSA. No new taxes, no new

Teachers can change everything by helping students lean into productive struggle. Not overwhelm, not frustration, but the kind of challenge that builds confidence, ownership, and real learning. Kids don’t just learn answers. They learn how to learn.
Self directed learning (neuroplasticity) is a lot like exercise: the worthwhile forms are never easy but with time the process of moving into & through it becomes familiar, which helps us repeat it again & again. Over time & with effort we learn to frame it as a pleasure too.

Happiness is often closer than we think. If we’re always waiting for the next corner to save us, we miss what’s already good. Shift the focus and life feels different.
Your brain is wired to focus on what’s wrong, not what’s right. For most of human history, noticing danger mattered more than noticing opportunity. Missing a good meal was inconvenient. Missing a threat could end your life. That ancient wiring is still with us today, which is

The brain treats anticipating math like danger, activating pain circuits. But when doing the math, those circuits turn off because the brain switches to thinking instead of worrying. This explains so much with my SPED students.
Math anxiety activates pain networks in the brain But here’s the catch: only when anticipating math, not during it

We already know how to combat most chronic disease. We do not need more money or research. We need to apply what we already know: better food, better movement, better sleep, and fewer harmful habits.
The chronic disease epidemic poses the greatest threat to our nation’s future. To Make America Healthy Again, we must attack its root causes and rebuild a health care system that restores strength, vitality, and longevity for every American.

Kids can't read, so states are passing phonics laws. But education professor @axe_andrew isn't happy. "YOU don't want the government involved in stuff, right? So why are they getting involved in reading instruction!" "Because you people screwed it up!" I tell him. The debate:

Crypto is a confidence-only asset. Systems built on pure belief always face the same end. At some point trust breaks, liquidity evaporates, and the structure collapses. It may be years or decades, but such markets do not last forever. That is the historical pattern. Buyer beware.

Trust works best when decisions stay closest to the people. The farther wealth moves from the people who earned it, the more gets lost to administration and inefficiency.

Computers do not teach. Teachers teach. Learning comes from instruction, not hardware.
It's time to remove laptops from classrooms. 24 experiments: Students learn more and get better grades after taking notes by hand than typing. It's not just because they're less distracted—writing enables deeper processing and more images. The pen is mightier than the keyboard.

Sure, raise prices with tariffs, then try to fix it by handing out money. That is not a solution. That is an inflation loop.
The President is right: we should send a tariff dividend to every working person in America. I’ve introduced legislation to do it. Let’s get this done https://t.co/0w5yjb2Ijj

It really does come down to who we trust to distribute (redistribute) wealth. Do we trust the government or the people?
"Do you like capitalism?" Mamdani: "I have many critiques of capitalism. There must be a better distribution of wealth.." https://t.co/7VsXpQd7bQ

When government expands in healthcare, costs rise and access shrinks. That pattern has not changed. The fix is simple: let patients and doctors lead again.
Here’s the deal. I don’t think government can manage healthcare appropriately. Even if we built the perfect social program—the perfect Medicare-for-All system that somehow kept everyone happy—it would still deteriorate quickly. It would accumulate regulations, attract

Kindness costs nothing and makes everyone better off. Let’s choose it more often.
