A young woman came in, 2 days after her last ER visit, appearing unwell and uncomfortable. Her smile was kind, her laugh nervous. 1/x

“…collegiality might make EMS personnel more likely to defer to the police, in part for fear that they’ll be perceived as obstructing justice by caring for someone who the police consider a suspect.”

Hiking rule of thumb: local guides will always underestimate the length of a hike by 50% and the difficulty by 90%. So, if they say a hike is a moderate 2 hours it will be 3 hours and you will want to die

Should we be viewing medicine as more of a job and less of a profession or a “calling”? A question that’s been on my mind a lot recently. Do trainees and physicians get taken advantage of more often by the healthcare system simply bc this is a “profession” we signed up for?

Welcome to Texas. Today abortion, a medical procedure, is now a felony. Punishable with up to life in prison. No exceptions for rape or incest. If you don’t think this will seriously impact medical care, you are wrong. 1/

Offenses for which a person should/could be arrested should not = a death sentence before trial. #RayshardBrooks was shot in the back. In the back. The case should go to trial. My heart goes out to his family.
Breaking News: A special prosecutor dropped charges against the police officer who fatally shot Rayshard Brooks, a 27-year-old Black man, outside an Atlanta Wendy's in 2020. The prosecutor said the officer and another on the scene “committed no crimes.”

If we cancel all student debt, ppl will want medical debt forgiven. If we cancel medical debt, they're going to want free healthcare. If we give them that, they'll want us to house the homeless. Then everyone's going to want a living wage. The whole society will fall apart.

Conservation is incredibly important, no question. BUT, Texas wouldn’t be in this situation EVERY SINGLE WINTER & SUMMER if @ERCOT_ISO would invest in an improved grid instead of taking profits and/or the Texas legislature would simply join the national power grid
