I'd like to see the US enforce its border and its immigration laws. And I'd like to see some empathy shown to illegal immigrants too. I think 80% of the country feels the same way but unfortunately only the extreme views on each side break through MSM and social media filters.

Reduction in government employment and spending = deflationary, should cause short-term economic contraction. Especially with no reduction in interest rates from the Fed. So the data makes sense to me. The investment in US manufacturing will trigger growth but delayed.

I've seen the below going around awhile now - and it needs de-bunking. I lived in California for decades. And like all Californians who paid taxes, I paid them, not the State of California. It wasn't the state's money - it was mine. California sends $0 to the Federal Government.
If blue states kept their money, they would be fine or even better off. Red states would be in deep financial trouble. Example: California is the fourth largest economy on Earth. It grows over one third of America’s vegetables and two thirds of its fruits and nuts.
