Spurgeon's sermons from the Song outweigh his number of sermons from Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, Ecclesiastes, Joel, Jonah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, and Haggai combined. And, his sermons from the Pastoral Epistles also fall behind his sermons on the Song. The Song was his fave.

I’ve found in many young guys learning to preach that they have these unnecessary fillers between sentences—“Right?” or “You know?” or, the classic, “Uh.” Silence is better than vocal stuffing.
