I am organizing my reappointment package - for other assistant professors out there, normalizing rejection: I was declined for $27 million worth of grants (there were a few big swings in there, and inclusive of all collabs). I keep my office of contracts and grants busy!

I am refreshing my IRB training at the moment. I just realized the author of this digital module is a co-author on one of my publications. I've been incredibly benefited by my collaborations! I still got one question wrong though... which I could argue.

That last one makes me feel much younger already with a new shiny tool. Also, Google Colabs + ChatGPT = training undergrads in rudimentary break-it then buy-it coding. I suppose I am also overhauling both my grad courses because of this endeavor as well! 2/4

If nothing else, writing this NSF CAREER proposal has resulted in me: (1) sketching out two new papers, (2) organizing my reappointment research narrative, and (3) coding a pdf-extractor tool that feeds into ChatGPT for automated json table extraction and contextualization. 1/4
