I will also say that a 6% margin is not a narrow margin in a company that has a revenue of $372 billion. That is a profit of $23 billion, and in no universe should that be considered “narrow.“

In addition, there is good evidence that primary care physicians (of which I am one) lower overall healthcare costs (not raise costs) improve patient satisfaction, decrease emergency room visits and hospitalizations, and reduce overall mortality.

As a fan of ⁦@nytdavidbrooks⁩ it was unfortunate to hear him blame front line physicians for the rising cost of healthcare in this country and for suggesting we “spread the rage” to them, esp given escalating violence toward healthcare workers
