#DYK #OurMaterTeam recently took part in a training exercise which involved the transfer of a "patient" with a highly infectious disease? Simulations prepare our staff should such events occur in the future. Here are some members of #OurMaterTeam getting ready for the session.

As the #Mater is home to the NIU, such simulations are important so that #OurMaterTeam are prepared to deal with patients suspected of having a highly infectious disease.

#OurMaterTeam recently participated in a planned simulation of the transfer of a mock viral haemorrhagic fever patient to the #Mater's specialist National Isolation Unit (NIU).

Aistriu exercise last week which commenced in OLOL ED. This exercise simulated the recognition of a patient with VHF and their transfer to MMUH NIU by NAS. Fabulous cross site learning on caring for infectious patients.
