#OurMaterTeam with a refresher on all things subclavian. Important to have a variety of techniques in the repertoire for the range of critical scenarios. Here we see members of the team looking at Subclavian and Axillary access techniques under USS.

Important to be meticulous in maintaining Haemovigilance during CODE RED. Here we see a critical CODE RED for an Upper GI Bleed simulation scenario. Same principles as a Trauma CODE RED, but slightly different targets and interventions #ResusCareIsATeamSport

@MaterTrauma @ThePillarDublin @ProgrammeSpark Invaluable skill, especially in the exsanguinating patient! For those advocating for US: clear evidence that it is superior to landmark for reducing complications of internal jugular cannulation, but the same isn't true for subclavian lines!

#DYK #OurMaterTeam recently took part in a training exercise which involved the transfer of a "patient" with a highly infectious disease? Simulations prepare our staff should such events occur in the future. Here are some members of #OurMaterTeam getting ready for the session.

As the #Mater is home to the NIU, such simulations are important so that #OurMaterTeam are prepared to deal with patients suspected of having a highly infectious disease.

Did you know our team custom-makes these HALO procedure models in-house for each @RCSI_EM_Sim & @RCSI_CPD course? These models are low-cost (compared to commercial models) and add extra functionality to our high-fidelity patient simulators
A lot going on in this Resuscitative Thoracotomy in today’s @RCSI_SIM trauma training session. Important to delegate appropriately to your team and use the cognitive aids in #HALO procedures.
