It was the end of an era @SomersetFT today as we said a fond farewell to the legend Dr Pugh! He has been the most amazing and inspirational colleague I could ever have hoped for 😊

Not everyone is able to relocate every year throughout their registrar training so we’ve developed this novel post. Come and do all your gastro and GIM registrar training with us in Taunton! See what people think about our training: https://t.co/bBvzYXIX0h @BSGTrainees

After almost two years, it's time to turn the page and embark on a new chapter in my career. Leaving @SomersetFT is a decision filled with mixed emotions, but I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. @dremmaw thank you for being the best supervisor ever !

Some shocking numbers from the BSG trainee survey: -36% ST7s had provisional colonoscopy sign off -69% interested in hepatology still wanted colonoscopy sign off -10% felt they could achieve CCT sign off in 4 yrs But what are we going to do about it? https://t.co/f0UvFnIWZN

Today I had F2 teaching on career planning. It started with us being asked what we planned to do after F2. Of my entire cohort (~40 doctors), less than 5 people plan to apply for further training starting in August 2024.

One of the things I’m most proud of at work is our brilliant clinical fellow programs. @vickikhan15 and @Almo0ou have been an absolute pleasure to work with this year, and have both done well to be signed off for OGDs in just over 6 months. We will miss you Waqas!

I am a NHS consultant. I am financially comfortable, in a job I love, so why am I striking tomorrow? Answer: Because the next generation will not be able to live off what I do today. The juniors that will become these consultants know this and are leaving already. Why? 🧵 👇

Final poster from our team for #BSGLIVE23 This one looks at whether the treatment plans we send to GPs at the time of initial referral avoid the need for review in secondary care. It’s definitely an effective use of time @SomersetFT

Due to some last minute changes with HEE posts we are advertising for a trust registrar. Recent post holders have been OGD trained within 9 months and have had lots of abstracts accepted. Also change to work on the exciting liver project @PHI_Comms @BSGTrainees
