100% accurate in my book. I was telling my son the exact same thing before the trade deadline.

I love the conversations in the booth for this game. a lot of discussion of the change in philosophy in pitching development, drawbacks of using 3,4 guys out of the pen every night, and how to get guys back to being able to go longer in games.

Joe Torre literally just said on the Yankees broadcast " You'll find that the teams that make more contact will be the ones in the postseason.".

When the reality is he is not a good MLB pitcher.

Bird is the perfect example of metrics vs reality. Metrics say he should be pitching to a 3.74 ERA, but he has an ERA about 2 runs higher because he doesn't execute pitches well consistently. I don't care about spin rates on breakers middle-middle, or what's expected.

More OKD trash from Platinum Glove winner Raleigh leading to 2 WP, 2nd one def should've been blocked allowing a run to score (after costing Gilbert 2 potential strike 3s with shitty receiving earlier). Wonder when teams are going to get the memo and stop that shit.

Don't know if care how unpopular this take is; the challenge system sucks, especially when it comes to strike 3s.

Watching the ball fly out of yards the way they have been this year (and the increased EVs across the board), I'm convinced of 2 things: 1. Pitching is worse than ever and 2. MLB manipulated the baseball again to turn it into a super ball effect.

I clearly don't have the credentials that Waino does, but this is something I've been saying I hate about the ground-up, OKD catching for the last 2-3 years and have been told I shouldn't focus on the glove anyways. Thanks @UncleCharlie50 for putting it more clearly than me lol.

A question that needs to be debated and AT LEAST considered. This is for all you catching gurus, @MLBNetwork guys, podcasters, coaches, and wouldn’t mind hearing from you pitchers on this subject. Best part of automated strike zone I see is a pitcher might regain a target!

They have a lot of things to clean up though. The talent is there, but until they focus back on talent with fundamentals rather than talent with measurable, they are going to keep a lot of those flaws. Please get back to having players that are true baseball dudes!.

I think I'm going to take a different approach on this WS. As frustrating as it was, being both a Yankee and a baseball fan, to see those flaws in managing and fundamentals show up a constants, I'm going to appreciate that i got to watch my team a little longer thru season end.

What kind of defensive fuckery has this inning been? Should've been out of it with the 1 baserunner, 0 runs, and 15 pitches. instead it's 3 runs and 27 pitches so far bc of doing an easy fb, rushing a throw, and not covering first??.

My opinion - Yanks success in gms 4 and 5 is directly linked to staying on the ball to increase contact. Fewer attempts to pull balls is the biggest reason the power is coming back (trying to hit HR is the best way to not hit them, or anything else).

I don't understand; why not bring Stroman in to eat as many innings as possible. If the Yanks start scraping some runs together to close the gap, shorten the least. Do NOT show the Dodgers Hill if you weren't going to use him last night vs Freeman. Keep something in the pocket.

I'll give it to Carlos Torres. top 1 was a bit rough but he's been a lot better after that half inning. A little wife outside to lefties on breakers but he's been calling it the same way for both teams quite consistently.

2 pitches yanked down by Wells. if he sticks the pitch where it was located, more likely than not he gets at least 1 of the calls.
