Latest research from HATUA suggests that interventions to tackle AMR need to take account of intersectional socio-economic disadvantage as a priority.
Latest paper led by Katy Keenan (@kkeenanstA) identifies over 40 social and environmental factors jointly driving intersectional vulnerability to multi-drug resistant infections in East Africa, supporting approaches which look beyond antibiotic use as an intervention point.

I stopped reading the paper after staring at Fig. 2a and Extended Data Fig 3 for a while. The metabolomics, cytokine and oral microbiome were brought forth in the paper as having the "strongest association with age". I hope this study didn't cost too much. 17/17
