CuteAccount is still in v1.x.x, but it’s already solid enough for our own internal use. If it works for us, it’ll probably work for others too. Coming January 2026, a no-nonsense expense tracker for tradies, solo freelancers, and small startups, with a bank-ledger feel.

You should hear the version that starts with the toilet bowl thrown from the plane, the elephant and the fridge, Sarah swimming in the sea, and the mermaids' community.

Hardened our ocean engineering analytics system by fixing a bug in annual/monthly maxima for Weibull, Gumbel, and GEV distributions. Better ocean simulation for safer life at offshore platform.

@Jrag0x I remember the dotcom era clearly. The key difference then was that social media didn't exist, so ordinary people had no effective way to communicate their optimism or pessimism directly to each other. We had to rely on narratives & talking points promoted by centralized media

I just recently found a YouTube channel about a Japanese salaryman. This is so depressing. He has a lot of overtime at work, and sometimes he misses the last train home. Because he lives far away, he stays in a special café where he can sleep, eat, and play video games. This is

Small corporate stuff that annoys the lower knowledge workers is actually the big stuff as you get higher. Remember names, places, birthdays, go to events, show up. This means something more (even if it seems irrational). Many engineers don't grasp this. It's not just code bro.

🚨DeSantis says AI Data Centers have ZERO economic benefit for locals! “Once it's done, it employs like a half dozen people. And these tech companies will likely bring in FOREIGNERS on some visa. They’re NOT going to hire from your local community. That's just not what they do.”

Note to Malaysian CS/IT grads. If you are aiming to have a career as maintainer/developer (internal/contractor) for Universities, Ministries, State agencies and GLC internal portals, deep dive into CodeIgniter + Oracle. CodeIgniter + HMVC (2012–2018) is still alive & kicking.

This bodes ill. Readers used to outnumber non-readers 2 to 1. Now non-readers outnumber readers 3 to 1. It's hard to imagine a change of that magnitude not having significant effects.
