Purely as a college football fan, I'd much rather see Diego and Vandy in the CFP than whatever this Bama team is. Neither are winning the whole thing, but Diego and Vandy would be great entertainment.

Vandy goes 10-2 in the SEC and finishes out the season dumptrucking Tennessee by 21 in their own house. But instead of seeing Vandy and Diego - one of the most exciting players in college football - in the CFP, we'll get to watch a G5 team get blown out. Great system, guys.

A&M played on the road at ND in non-conference and won. Ole Miss played every non-conference game at home, none against P4. Both went 7-1 in pre-set SEC schedules, and lost one game on the road.

Committee set the precedent that losing a starting quarterback is grounds for a downgrade. What is the devaluation for losing a head coach, and potentially multiple assistants? Fair to Ole Miss? No. But the Ole Miss going forward is not the Ole Miss of the regular season.

Taking the regular season as a whole, the bigger problem for Elko is it looks like he has a team that peaked before Halloween vs LSU, as was the case in 2024. He has 3 weeks to get it figured out and avoid finishing the season on a downward trend. Again.

Good news! Marcel no longer needs to worry about squeezing in a trip to NYC before the playoffs.
A good defense without its best player is making Marcel and this offense look completely pedestrian. A paltry 12 of 20 for 101 yards passing, and 3 punts on 3 possession to start the second half. So far, the moment is too big for the kid - and the entire offensive unit.
