Greetings, I’d like to share news of my first, first author paper https://t.co/DS3IFdFX1R Long ago, I heard tall tales of the thymus and felt I needed to venture down this path. After countless sleepless nights and years of searching, you will never guess what we found…

Still trying to forget the smell of a Salmonella infected Cecum. Congratulations Rach and thanks for letting me be a part of this project 🙌🏽🥳🥳
I am thrilled to share the second publication from my PhD work where we have characterized how eosinophils respond to an enteric Salmonella infection, now available in @InfImmAg 1/ https://t.co/BLkA1WKeQH

NEW POST ALERT just in time for the start of school! Let's talk about T-cell education. Although the curriculum these immune soldiers undergo has only 2 main topics the process involving this education is intricate and extremely beautiful #ImmunologyForAll

Great collaborators can be game changers. It's been so rewarding working with her group investigating how age & the microbiota impact neurodegenerative disease. For more detail, check out @pu_annie & @naomi_fettig's pre-print! doi:
Thanks @Lauriemcox for the opportunity to write this review - we all learned a lot. Big shout out to @naomi_fettig from @OsborneLab_UBC who did the heavy lifting and @pu_annie from my lab. A true UBC/UofT collaboration. https://t.co/QEqR4QRvNU

Proud co-first author together with @dominique_gatti of this @J_Immunol publication in which we used a data-driven approach to highlight successes and challenges in EDI @CdnImmunol 👇🥳
So proud of the @CdnImmunol (CSI) and the EDI Committee for letting us examine our historical data and analyze our successes and remaining challenges in EDI: Truly a model for how societies can move the cause forward by being data-driven and open. Kudos to all!

An interesting thing we noticed was: once the gut microbiota was depleted, the thymic eosinophils began to disappear… and their MHCII expression decreased… The gut microbiota is a key regulator of lots of immune cells and thymic eosinophils are one of them!

We moved through the cortex and into the medulla and we were out numbered! Thousands of MHCII+ thymic eosinophils! But why are they here and what are they doing? These questions are just the beginning.

Eosinophils of different shapes and different phenotypes, expressing MHCII, CD80 and IDO, oh my!
