We can fund science as well as sports, as well as the arts, and not sacrifice social programs to do it. The ‘we can’t afford to do everything’ crowd just don’t want to tax the wealthy.
Critically important science programs just lost $25 million of funding and yet the government can find $200 million for sports funding, seemingly overnight. We don’t have our priorities straight in this country.
