What a fantastic evening! Thank you for your support to the @dms_dmrc. A personal thanks from me for your generosity in support of my @LondonMarathon madness - collectively you donated £740 for the @dmrc_benfund. As a little update, I completed my first 1/2 marathon today! 🏃‍♀️🏅

For our charity (with only one part time employee), pulling together a fundraising dinner takes months of planning. The evening was such a success because of the commitment of our volunteers & charity supporters. Thank you team, @antonycotton, Rich Potter & @TheMagicMarine 💜

This unique collaboration means NHS patients will benefit from facilities usually reserved for Defence rehabilitation. This includes an advanced gait lab where clinicians can use technology to observe and analyse in detail a patient’s gait to determine a treatment plan...

By sharing knowledge and facilities across both the NRC and the DMRC, patients will have access to more intensive, cutting-edge treatments designed to help them rebuild their independence after life-changing illness or injury. @nottmhospitals @DMS_MilMed

and a Computer Assisted Rehabilitation Environment (CAREN) – one of just a handful in Europe. This is a dome which creates an almost 360 degrees immersive virtual reality experience, with a treadmill and hoist on a fully moveable platform to test a patient’s movement and balance.

The sharing of facilities and learning across both sites has always been the plan for the groundbreaking rehabilitation estate, established by the Defence and National Rehabilitation Centre (DNRC) Programme and facilitated by the Black Stork Charity.

Later this Autumn, we'll open the UK’s first NHS National Rehabilitation Centre. Thanks to a landmark agreement, we will share state-of-the-art facilities and clinical expertise with the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre, located just 400m away on the same estate @DMS_MilMed
