Thread, because @SecDuffy still ignores reality.
NADLER: Are you aware that major crimes on MTA are down 3% since last year and down 8% since 2019?. DUFFY: No, that's wrong. The assaults we've seen are up 60%. NADLER: Why do you continue to lie about this?. DUFFY: Why do you continue to lie about people being lit on fire on

"Felony assaults" are up: an average of 4 per week across the entire NYC system, up from 3 per week last year. 1/3 of those assaulted are transit workers. There are roughly 19.9 million riders per week. That's pretty safe, @SecDuffy.
Sean Duffy on Fox: "It's dangerous to ride the subway in New York . it's just stupid liberals with stupid policies that impact the lives of New Yorkers"

That wasn't the question, @tedcruz. Yes, there's a risk of flooding. But that's why officials should listen to forecasts & warn promptly. This camp has suffered before. It's been a known issue there since at least the 1930s. These were choices, not chance or "God's will.".
Q: Was it ever communicated to you that it was a priority to have a warning system, so people have a chance to escape something like this?. TED CRUZ: Any time you're dealing with major rivers, there's a risk of flooding . you see people engaging in partisan games . people

That's learned helplessness, @SpeakerJohnson. Your administration hobbled the NWS, but even then, their forecasts were ignored by Republican officials in Texas until it was too late. That's a case for listening to scientists, not praying to God.
Mike Johnson on Texas floods: "In a moment like this, we feel just as helpless as everyone else does . all we know to do at this moment is pray."

The "thinking of a major mayoral candidate" was representing both of his parents' nationalities as there was not a single box that sufficed, @patrickhealynyt. Maybe illuminate the thinking and background of your source because it's much more questionable and biased.

That goes for you too, then, @SpeakerJohnson. But moral choices are not a matter of "personal preferences". Choosing to meet you halfway on such an immoral bill only tarnishes those who do so. Do you honestly think Jesus would look kindly on you and this bill? Seriously?.

Profile in courage. She could have killed this bill and stopped it in its tracks. She knows this will harm Americans, and millions more than will benefit from "Alaska's interests". I don't care how she feels now. She didn't have to vote for it. Period.
Sen. Lisa Murkowski on the Big Ugly Bill she just voted for:. “Do I like this bill? No. But I tried to take care of Alaska’s interests, but I know that in many parts of the country, there are Americans that are not going to be advantaged by this bill"
