Twitch is where it is at right now because it continues to fire/lose people who actually gave a damn, people who would fight for you everyday. This is another name added to that list. Lots of people who care still exist at Twitch, but those numbers are dwindling.

Given the tumultuous history of partnerships favoritism at Twitch, I cannot see how this brings any level of comfort to creators who are “not friends” with Dan Clancy. It sends the message, we will care and support you… if we are friends.

As a side note, at TwitchCon 2015, myself and a few other staff had a restraining order against an unstable individual who lived in SF. Despite the warnings and his ban from TC, this individual somehow made it in and approached me from behind to confront me.

10 years ago @djWHEAT led the original creation of TwitchCon to bring streamers together irl from all the different communities and games across Twitch for the first time. those years were special and meant something to people. not so much anymore
it is Twitch’s sole responsibility to ensure the safety of all streamers in attendance. if Twitch not cannot fulfill its most basic obligation Twitchcon will come to an end
