“Most of us have small, sad places in our hearts. My father felt deeply but kept his feelings to himself. Or rather, being a writer, he let them escape in his writing. And so such sadnesses as there were put on cap and bells and emerged as Eeyore.”~C.R.Milne #WorldMentalHealthDay

I adore @jamesyorkston music and catching up on his novels - spectacular, so glad he’s on the Saltire longlist for ‘Tommy the Bruce’. Currently reading ‘Book of the Gaels’ - this made me laugh and weep at the same time - oh for a well-paid poet -

🖊️LIBRARY VANS AND HIDDEN DOORS "Libraries are, of course, fantastic places to learn, to discover the world. But for me, personally, perhaps they are most exciting as places to hide." - Peter Mackay, Scotland's Makar, on a lifelong love of libraries https://t.co/fM9a7ryvmW

I have been lucky in the libraries in my life and can - if I were to close my eyes now -imagine many of them in intricate detail, as a smell, type of lighting, sitting and reading experience.
