Finding common, pathological cell states across different lung diseases was such a revelation: can we treat common cellular mechanisms similarly in different lung diseases? So much work to do!!! @EuroRespSoc @ATS_RCMB @Longfonds @researchumcg @GriacG @ExpireLab
As the HLCA includes data of >10 lung diseases, it allows us to directly compare cell states between diseases. For example, monocyte-derived macrophage (MDM) clusters showed different disease specificities, with one cluster enriched for IPF, COVID-19, and carcinoma (14/21).
