In 2023 the ‘peak amazon’ prophets seemed to finally got proven right. Especially as a new category of factory-to-consumer players entered the stage. And to be fair, it’s too early to call out a winner.

At that time the analysis had some logic, Alibaba and Co gained traction (Temu and Shein had not been on the radar) and it seemed challenging for Amazon to gain market share. After the Covid Peak 2020/2021 ecommerce numbers normalized and so did Amazon.
