Quick update on my fundraiser to support tuition and living costs at Columbia university: We now have 46 contributors! I want to thank each of you for your incredible generosity and kindness.

As I publish this, I am also thinking of one autumn day in 2022 spent at the Berlin Social Science Center as a @Falling_Walls fellow, where I first participated in discussions on climate migration, and where the first seeds of this story were planted.

From the point of inception to the point of publication this story took two years, partly due to the scarcity of data and publications linking these factors, which required more time to establish credible links at the ground level.
