No need for elevation maps when there’s frost around 😂 At least this lake country has somewhere for the cool air to go, our flat country nearly always fairs worse. Never enough hills 🤣

Headers just ticked over 400hrs for the season, bit over 2/3rds the way through. 🤞🏻a few more crops like this and 🤞🏻we don’t find too much more frost.

Need clean, even soil type, good ph, can’t spray anything on them. Need to harvest as a priority as soon as ready so they don’t get closer to the ground. Not as good as peas for putting n in soil. All things I could look past if they worth $800 😂

3rd try at lentils better than the previous attempts. However with lentil prices where they are I won’t try again next year. Thunder south of blue line are a huge improvement on bolt. Peas will continue to be our legume, better agronomics and harvestability

While things are looking good I thought I should take some photos! Needs some rain and no frost to finish but could be one of our better years. on a slightly wetter year everything is a little short on N(range from 35-65N) Photos;combat, sceptre, bolt/thunder and griffon canola

Baulk up of thunder on right, bolt on left. Smaller seed of thunder gave more plants per m2 but the thunder is definitely more vigorous and bigger plants already.

-4° last week has tuned a few hollows up 🥶. Hopefully early enough for it recover mostly. Rest of the crop looking pretty good so no complaints here! Also interesting to see any leaf touching some stubble or chaff has been smoked.

Forget the “change the date” for Australia Day, can we change the date on MOTHERS DAY! Farming mothers draw the short straw there! Happy Mother’s Day to all mums

Bourgault owners… really battling to get a canola rate under 2kg/ha. Got the small seed bin with double flighted metering auger, auger sleeve seems in perfect shape. More thinking it’s hydraulic related. Hydraulic valve says it’s running just below 20% flow. Any common issues?

Conditions are pretty good! Pretty rare canola gets seeded into moisture 🤞🏻 for more rain

Heliotrope is up there with caltrop as an annoying weed. Seems to germinate from a dew and never seems too stressed. Starts flowering in a minute too. Only good thing is the camera boom seems to pick it up ok.

Beast barley on right has been a good variety for us. Combat on the left looks as good, but shorter. Should mean it’s better at harvest time? Anyone with experience with both in lower yeild areas?
