Some ACT Local candidates have won their elections 👏🥳Not sure how it’s going to go for them being the only person in the room often saying NO to new spending or questioning current spending decisions but gotta start somewhere. All power to them.

Even more remarkable has been the halving of 🇳🇿 Public Service spending on contractors and consultants over the past two years.
For the first time in over twenty years, total 🇳🇿 government spending on personnel fell in FY2025. The differing approaches of Labour and National-led governments to public sector pay and staffing are fairly clear over time.
