same with games, you can pretty much pick any idea, the main factor if we make a game about being stuck in an elevator with an iguana is how we execute said idea.
Lol my mentions are full of AI fans talking about how it’s ableist not to consider people with “great ideas” writers simply because they don’t in fact write, and my dude, ideas are dirt cheap. They mean nothing. I get ten book ideas daily. Writing is what breathes life into ideas

Big lesson. Don’t enter a market - create one. Either by new niche, new player fantasy & radical approachability applied to a sticky but constrained niche (eg WoW’s rise).

ironically, in my experience, the people who game the least are the absolute monsters when it comes to game dev
If I ever create my own game development studio, I will introduce a 4-day work week, with the fifth day dedicated to gaming - and you would need to provide a proof that you really played the game. To be a great game developer, you need to play games a lot. Would you follow this?
