there is scarcity everywhere...chips, new autos, game consoles, kitchen appliances, chlorine, component parts, etc etc. Don't underestimate the bump that is giving ecommerce (for now) across the board which excels at mediating excess demand by price.

What is so interesting is that this is 40 years old and feels as if it could have been written yesterday. Almost none of the major issues set forth have been significantly advanced in 4 decades! I hope Im wrong but for now there are more viable pathways to sustainability.

The short statement of the problem is that the heat and energy needed to initiate a fusion reaction Is so great that it is nearly impossible to contain and harness in a human made facility. The energy in is almost always greater than the energy out.

The proper response in a democracy is to allow competing voices and debate. History shows that people get it right over time and America works even if it can be messy and maddening. There has never been a time where we need real journalism, and real platforms more than now.

But this wont make the people or comments go away. Its more likely to lead to more polarization, as platforms and publishers segment further based on politics and journalists are pulled closer and closer to opinion.
