I will even agree with the argument that within the American political climate, the ban of cellphones in schools correlates more appropriately with the growing censorship of information, given the conservative push to indoctrinate an already heavily propagandized curriculum.

You could ban phones in every US school campus & kids wont get any smarter. The educational system in the US is archaic & not meant to foster critical or analytical thinking. Phones are a cheap cop out for a larger systemic failure when you realize schools hand every kid a tablet.

Post-disaster trauma in a community is not even about the storm itself, it’s about the aftermath. The trauma is about loss, state negligence, & abandonment & the impending doom that it WILL happen again in your lifetime because of the climate crisis & ongoing political corruption.

Telling people who survived one of the most devastating natural disasters on historical record to “get over it” and “go to therapy” is tone deaf, considering in Puerto Rico most psychologists don’t accept medical insurance so they can charge you over $100 a session. Go to hell.
