It's a big day for Louisiana! @LouisianaCPRA board unanimously approved the 2023 Coastal Master Plan-a guide for coastal adaptation over the next 50 years, guiding $50 billion investments along the coast. This has been a labor of love alongside incredible collaborators.

Landmark moment of joy for SCAPE: a harbor seal (Phoca vitulina) was spotted on one of the emergent Living Breakwaters out in Raritan Bay—dubbed Stanley by the on-site team. Stanley’s ‘banana pose’ is a way for seals to regulate their body temperature and dry off. (📸: Ali Faris)

Tons to unpack in new #IPCC report, but one thing I found interesting is the growing risk of "maladaptation"—i.e. climate adaptation strategies that actually make things worse. Report finds "increased evidence" of it "across many sectors & regions" https://t.co/wLM26McMIG 🧵

The impacts of climate change are here today, are worse than scientists expected, and no government or company is doing enough to adapt to them.
