App Store screenshots with text boost retention by almost 90%. you must make it irresistible for the user to download your app. don’t just say bs like “take control”, “feel the music”, etc. that means nothing!. you are losing app downloads and revenue just because of that. #aso

Right now we are pretty limited. Use cases:. - Apple Ads: You can create a custom page for niche keywords. - Organic traffic (ASO): Pick one of your keywords and craft specific screenshots focusing only on that one.
@designerants Custom product pages. They now have extra keywords but how does this work, like should i spin up multiple product pages targeting different keywords ?.

RT @designerants: Screenshots are not "optional.". Would you have a suboptimal storefront for your physical business?. This is more like a….

The bigger an app gets, the harder it is to improve ASO conversions. Why?. Old screenshots convert more. As Buffett said:. Time in the market > timing the market. This also works for brands. The older any product gets, the more impact its brand has in the minds of people.
@designerants @zach_yadegari @blakeandersonw Their primary channels are UGC-promotion and ads via insta and TikTok . Thousands of their UGC + ads videos show screens like in the “Before” section. With the viewer often required to find the app themselves in the UGC case, I’d bet congruency is more valuable to them.

Projecting your own belief system leads to poor business results. You may NOT like bold statements. But most users may enjoy the clarity behind short, bold texts and reject corporate like statements. An individual using his full frontal lobe will reach different conclusions.
@designerants @zach_yadegari @blakeandersonw Screenshot #1: is this person really the target audience? Like is this fit woman tracking calories? 🤔 To me, it’s more the person the target audience wants to look like. “#1 Calorie Tracker” should be A/B tested imo. Many people don’t like these bold statements that look fake.

Yes, Apple accepted this. The outcome is quite arbitrary depending on your actual reviewer. I wrote a full tutorial on how I avoid rejections when pushing Apple limits:. → Some spoilers:. - Use UI elements present inside your app if you want to zoom
@designerants Did apple accept these? They keep rejecting asking for more realstic screens? Are they cracking down here.

You are right, reviewers don't always enforce rules. But they may re-review you app later (with no app update) and ban you.
@designerants Mmm. Wrong. I used some and they accepted me.

Apple emojis CANNOT be used on App Store screenshots. It will lead to a rejection under Apple's copyright guidelines. I use icons that resemble emojis instead.
@designerants How exactly would you use emojis for this? 🤔.

App Store reviewers will check the facts you add to screenshots. If you try to lie, you may get rejected. But if your app is number 1 in just one country, then you can add it. According to App Store Guidelines, you must not include unverifiable product claims.
@designerants @zach_yadegari @blakeandersonw That looks nice 👌 Planning a redesign for @habit_it_app so thanks for posting such inspiration 🙏.Quick question, is the #1 on the first page working nicely in stores where it’s not actually no. 1?.

- A/B testing the first screenshot brings more impact. - The conversion increase is measured with A/B test screenshots in App Store Connect.
@designerants Great breakdown! 👏.Curious, which of these changes gave you the biggest immediate impact?.Also, how are you measuring the lift - A/B tests or funnel analytics?.
