I’m okay with being hated for my demeanor / beliefs. But I would prefer to be hated for beliefs I hold rather than misinterpretations, hence this clarification tweet.

The beauty here is in the imperfect pursuit of improvement. The man was overweight, but he is trying to get in shape (using Cal AI). I was initially angry because he took up part of my seat, but “[I felt] guilt for passing such heavy judgement”. Stating that I “considered”.

This is a real story btw, not just an ad lol

Helping people lose weight is one of the most positive sum things a person can do. Being overweight is torturous. Anybody that pushes “body-positivity” is evil. I don’t think we should shame people for being overweight, but we shouldn’t normalize it either.

I just had the most beautiful experience of my life. I’m seated next to a VERY overweight guy on the plane. I’m hungover, sore from my marathon, and I can’t even sit normally. So angry. I’m considering telling this guy when we get off the plane that he needs to lose weight.
