Lots of Lapwings seen on our detour walk. They swoop around chasing each other and occasionally dropping down into the fields. They have a very distinct cry, not too different to a curlew's cry. @waddells74 @alisonbeach611

Just past Diggle Green - there is a stables which is also a bed & breakfast hotel, a cat boarding place and the one I don't approve of - a shooting centre at the end of the road. @alisonbeach611 @waddells74

Lots of Lapwings seen on our detour walk. They swoop around chasing each other and occasionally dropping down into the fields. They have a very distinct cry, not too different to a curlew's cry. @waddells74 @alisonbeach611

Did a detour on our Diggle walk to explore a little village called Diggle Green, at the end of the road there is a track following a stream and at one point stepping stones across, reached a place where the path went back across the river - no stepping stones & too deep to cross

A very wet afternoon walk around Daisy Nook. Coot on nest - I assume it has eggs beneath it. Sandy watching the swans who were pulling up young shoots to eat. The only horses out in the fields today. @waddells74 @alisonbeach611

The Pike this evening. Nobody there just Sandy & I braved the showers. The only horse out this evening was the old man of the Pike. Just the small break in the clouds but no dramatic sunset today. Manchester in the gloom, showers moving towards us so we didn't stay! @waddells74

@Steveredwolf Morning all. I did more in the garden yesterday despite showers; plants in the resting bed are getting a tidy up - I've done about half now & everything that likes it is getting a layer of manure compost; roses are just starting their leaves. 👏👏👏
