For this to work, you need two linux machines on the same network. Say one is at 10.64.33.21 (host01) and other is 10.64.33.22 (host02). You need openssh-server installed on the machine you intend to act like "code server". In the example hereafter host01 is that server. (2/6).

You can git over a local network. You don't need a git server such as gitlab, or, any kind of solution such as gitea. (1/6).
