and if a fic writer does not want to receive any critical feedback, ever, from anyone? that's their prerogative. fic writers are not career authors pumping out commercial fiction; we are just fans like the rest of you, sharing our passion for these characters. give us a break.

it's not that fic writers en masse are resistant to receiving feedback on our work, but *meaningful* feedback normally comes from trusted critique partners (not random strangers) during the *drafting* or *editing* phases, not after the fic is published & public.

listen. some readers are brilliant. some Know Craft. many cannot articulate the difference between nonrestrictive & dependent clauses, attributive nouns & adjectives— let alone give insightful critique about more abstract things like pacing, characterization, and voice.
