It is very lovely ‘n all but I’m currently saving up any THLAS funds to pay for my PO Box just for 6 months… Don’t mean to sound bitter but I genuinely try my hardest all the time (for free) to encourage and inspire people to buy Royal Mail stamps. Never even a discount. ☹️📮💷

Pot of gold! Rare Roman gold coin hoard uncovered near Didcot, Oxfordshire, by a metal detectorist in 1995. The pot contained 126 gold aurei, struck between AD 54-160. It would have taken a legionary soldier over ten years to earn this large sum! Ashmolean Museum 📷 by me

A male Blackbird just landed near me I wondered why he was so trusting, thinking he may be one of the Mini Bert’s, & then he sang a few notes of the raisin song It IS Bert, almost unrecognisable with the new feathers post moulting Bert’s back & I am crying 🥲🐦⬛

I confess I’m not v keen on the idea that Classics & other humanities disciplines teach you how to THINK (they may or may not). They do however teach you how to READ & argue responsibly on questions to which there are no right answers. I believe these are v important civic skills
