Deserted Pennine farmhouses were of course Peter Brook’s stock in trade, in ‘Abandoned - But Drawing What’s Left’ a vast wilderness-like landscape overwhelming the old building and adding to the sense of isolation and struggle for survival in a bleak and unforgiving environment.

Here it is. Your annual dose of Hibs fans in 2016 belting out the greatest version of 'Sunshine On Leith' we've ever heard. Still gives us chills. https://t.co/Avgi6kvbuU

'How can we maximise operating theatres and reduce waiting lists?' How about letting staff go home if they manage to finish the list early? Amazing how so many say this incentive would mean they’d be more likely to stay late for an overrun than cancel. https://t.co/zAUWofObuv

🧵regarding 1-handed knot tying: We'll go over basic concepts about knots and how to tie the '1-handed' knot. We will also explore why one of the 'throws' is harder than the other, and a different way to do it that may be new to many who trained in surgery in the U.S. (1/ )

If I don't leave surgery better for those who are following me then I will have failed. We senior doctors and our Colleges must speak effectively and with force for our trainees' livelihoods, training opportunities, and working conditions. https://t.co/ZwtDLuFoLV

Have no doubt about it: the next generation of senior doctors, who we currently label as juniors, have found their voice. It’s one for debate whether the term “junior” itself is derogatory and the...

Great session on Type B aortic dissection today @BSIR_News. Expertly chaired by Raghu Laksminarayan and lovely talks from my co-presenters. The most important take home message is to pour 100% effort into the EARNEST trial! @VascResearchUK @VSGBI @BSETnews

@ThriveTrial The optimal VTE prevention strategy after endovenous interventions is totally unclear, with massive variations in practice around the world. THRIVE is a large RCT (>6500 participants) that will hopefully give us some clear direction @DanielCarradice @ThriveTrial @ForumRsm
