Paddack had a really good rookie year in 2019 with San Diego but hasn't been close to that since. He missed most of 2022 and 2023 after having Tommy John surgery.

Interesting. Paddack is a meh, back-of-the-rotation starter. Don't know why they'd be interested in Dobnack, except maybe for depth at Toledo. Jimenez is a catcher prospect who's 19 and several years from the majors, if he gets there at all.

I was in Osaka about a year ago and visited the Koshien museum. As a Detroit Tigers fan, I wanted to see if Cecil was mentioned, and he was — three times, twice for his 1989 season and once as an example of the road uniform Hanshin wore at the time. It’s a great museum.
Cecil Fielder - Hanshin Tigers (1989) Dad of Prince (the baseball one), Cecil was just 25 when he went to Japan. Cecil was the cleanup hitter in his lone season in Nishinomiya, clubbing 38 HR and hitting .302. He hit 288 HR after going back to America and is in the 300HR club.
