My first ever sighting of an eastern screech-owl in Central Park! This owl was flushed by a raccoon and was at first only visible through our thermals. The owl then flew in closer so we could get a better look. I have not seen the owl since that magical night. ✨💕🦉 #birdcpp

People who see her and her mate Romeo for the first time are usually surprised by how small they are. Some incorrectly judge them to be the size of larger and heavier dogs such as German shepherds, or even mistake them for wolves. Romeo and Juliet are mostly glimpsed on the move
