"I'm here because of the fight for Black freedom. My family does not arrive on these shores if it were not for Civil Rights fighters. I'm a direct beneficiary of that." - Dr. David Kyuman Kim Liberation is mutual. Your freedom can't be separated from your neighbor's.

Alums of highly selective schools who believe in a multiracial democracy, may I suggest you redirect your annual giving to HBCUs and public institutions which serve large numbers of Black and Indigenous students (including Black and Indigenous Latines.)

Seems to me that all the benefit of the doubt Elon Musk received from media, from so-called thought leaders, from corporate America, comes from a society that doesn't see racism, sexism as signs of flawed character or judgment, but instead as sort of normal and besides the point.

Hello Mayor Sheng Thao- Oakland’s new @WorkingFamilies Mayor. Just like the sound of this.
Sheng Thao has pulled ahead and it's very likely she will be the next mayor of Oakland. Even if there a few more votes outstanding, the chances it flips are small.
