To the opposition politicians taking umbrage with me saying this: Let me be clear, I don't think parents' pockets should be empty once they’ve fed their kids. Many working parents need this support. If other parties disagree with that then they need to take a look at
Parents shouldn’t be out of pocket by setting their children up for school. That’s why we are rolling out free breakfast clubs and from next September, schools will be required to limit branded items of uniform. Saving families £500 and giving kids the best start in life.

Great to see our @UKLabour government standing up for parents & young families. Expanding free childcare, breakfast clubs, cracking down on rip-off uniform fees. The last Conservative government was the most anti-family government in history; good to see Labour reversing that.
