19 years ago today, Harchester United secured probably the greatest single result in their history. A 1-0 win away to Barcelona at the Nou Camp in the Champions League! Frank Stone headed in a Tommy Valentine free kick, sending the Dragons fans mad. 🐉💜
25 years ago today, Harchester United beat Manchester United 2-1 in the FA Cup final at Wembley. Then this happened…

25 years later,
@behavingyoupod
is born!
18 years ago today, we witnessed the most shocking moment in Dream Team history. We lost Harchester United’s greatest ever player, Karl Fletcher. I can still remember how shocked I was, and still not over it now. Don Barker was a bastard, but what a character. RIP Fletch. 🐉💜
13 years ago today, the
#ThreeLions
were beaten by Germany at the World Cup in South Africa. To drown my sorrows, I stayed at the pub much longer than intended. I then met my future wife as a result.
“Thanks very much Sepp Blatter!”
Another footballer autobiography completed,
@DarrenAnderton
! A very underrated player, clearly shown by the faith in him by Terry Venables, Glenn Hoddle and George Graham. Played through the pain and given poor medical advice to his detriment. Loved him for England. Enjoyable.

There are at least 3 missing as well. Season 3 home, season 4 white away and seasons 9-10 home.
Does anyone know why there is a 1999-2000 Real Mallorca shirt in there too?
23 years ago today, we saw the conclusion of arguably the biggest cliffhanger in Dream Team history. Didier Baptiste’s penalty is saved, before Luis Amor Rodriguez (
@MartinCrewes
) scores the rebound, to keep Harchester United up! Interview by Gary Bloom (
@Bloomers57
). 🐉💜
20 years ago today, arguably the best episode of Dream Team aired. What a tragic end for Jamie Parker. Such an emotional ending. Still don’t think I’m over it. 🐉💜
Hope Peter Clarke gets a game on Saturday, so we can finally give him the send off he never got for
#OAFC
. Ideal scenario would be we are comfortably ahead, comes on for Hogan and takes the armband.
24 years ago today, we saw the new Dream Team intro video that would go on to become the most common, and used for 6 of the 10 seasons. Previously it showed characters from that season. Used for 216 episodes 1999-2005, out of 419 episodes. Iconic. 🐉💜
19 years ago today since one of the most heartbreaking scenes in Dream Team history. Harchester beat PSG in the Champions League 2-0, thanks to a goal and an assist from Clyde Connelly. Clyde then took his own life. Acted superbly throughout the storyline by
@timbrynsmith
. 🐉💜
18 years ago, West Ham United played Harchester United in the Championship play-off final. Now they are in a European cup final! Harchester won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Lee Presley, and an inspired performance in goal by player-manager Viv Wright. 🐉💜
My favourite way of making money in CM 97/98. Wait until the transfer window is closing in 2 weeks. Buy players with expiring contacts, high average rating, low value, who have others interested or are star players. Spent £432k, sold for £8.9m, profit £8.468m. Easy money!
Hi
@SkyHelpTeam
! My Twitter account has a measly 833 followers, yet this Dream Team video has 33.3K views since yesterday. Sky has over 23M subscribers. Think of the good you could do by bringing the box-set back, like you suggested a few weeks ago. 🐉💜

Magaluf in 2005. Pat Sharp DJing in a club. Went to the booth to ask him to sign my shirt. Ignored me completely and only acknowledged females. Got told to leave it by mates, didn’t want to let him win. Repeatedly shouting PAT inches from his face, didn’t even flinch. Fair play.
After Harrogate away I didn’t think I’d go over to watch
#OAFC
again this season. Shez comes back, and now I’m going to Walsall on a Tuesday on my own! Flight to Liverpool, trains to Walsall, hotel in Walsall. Come on Oldham!
"The coach carrying Harchester United's first team has crashed on the M1"
21 years ago today. Still gutted we never got to see the Dragons in a European cup final v AC Milan. Peak Dream Team. RIP Danny Rawsthorne, Stevie Shaw, Linton Alexander & Claudia Irving. 🐉💜

Karl Fletcher
It had to be! Fletch wore the number 11 shirt 2000-03 and 2005, and played for the Dragons in 3 different spells. Drugs, women, sidekick, husband, FA Cup winner, cars, captain, manager, father and ghost. Legend!
Others: Luke Davenport
25 years ago, Dream Team aired for the first time! I was 12 when I first witnessed the Dragons of Harchester United. Fair to say it has made a lasting impression on me, and I still miss it now. Here are a few creations I’ve helped with over the years! Happy birthday Dragons! 🐉💜
How amazing are the new background photos in the

V2 Project!? Just a very small part of the huge effort that has gone into it. Well done
@cm9798v2
, you should be very proud of what you have achieved!
According to Wikipedia, Chris Taylor is 13th on the list of appearances for
#OAFC
. He is the first player to make over 300 appearances since Nick Henry. Will we ever have a player play that many games for us ever again? A modern day legend for me. Happy retirement Chrissy!
A Norwegian retro sport Twitter account has just tweeted “Before Erling Haaland we had Gunnar Halle.” with a clip of him scoring for
#OAFC
, which makes me very happy.

José Luis Chilavert
Chilavert captained Paraguay at France 98, and was the first goalkeeper to take a direct free kick at a World Cup finals! He was named in the Team of the Tournament, as well as World Goalkeeper of the Year. He scored 67 career goals!

Jamie Parker
Tough one to to start out! Jamie gets the nod as wore the number 1 shirt 2000-2003 and was the focus of arguably the greatest episode. Although it is a gamble, Parker was a top keeper and a superb character.

After our Euro 96 win, UEFA make the strange decision to award Euro 2000 to Northern Ireland, despite their biggest stadium holding only 18,000! Midfielders Le Tissier and Gascoigne are rewarded after their great seasons with moves to Real Madrid. I will carry on for France 98!

Luis Amor Rodriguez
Argentinian international forward who wore 9 1998-2000. Rodriguez scored both goals in the 1999 FA Cup final win, and the goal to stop relegation in 2000, sealing legend status!

Special mentions to these four Harchester players who never wore a squad number 1–25, so they were sadly ineligible for the calendar!
Absolutely beaming. Excited to be an

Shez: They always have

Tommy Svindal Larsen
A true Championship Manager legend! Can be picked up cheaply from Stabæk, where he captained them to a 1998 Norwegian Cup win, his first major trophy. Fun Fact: His 2 shirt number style was a TV channel logo from an ad agreement!

Alfonso Pérez Muñoz
The most expensive player at the start of the game, £16m! Pérez was a member of the talented Betis squad which included Finidi, Jarni and Oli. Alfonso played twice for Spain at France 98 and was Spanish Player of the Year in 1997/98.
18 years since I made the final 12 (not 4!) candidates for the manager job at

when I was 18. What’s the furthest you have got for an application for the job of manager of a Premier League club?

Really enjoyed my first trip to

yesterday. Great town and fans very welcoming. Surprising they lost to MK though after going 1-0 up against 10 men!

A thread of players who have career histories in Championship Manager: Season 97/98, that you will probably be surprised about as they were already retired by then. Some of these will have had data carried over from CM9697, CM2 or even CM9394!

Gary Lineker (
@GaryLineker
)
A Belgian team has never won the European Cup. I have picked the worst team in Belgium with that being the (eventual) goal. Might take a while, but will keep me occupied when Charli is watching Love Island. 3 players in a starting squad! No non-EC restrictions and 5 subs though.
Set everything up and waiting for everyone to arrive for the

race night. Only one thing to do to kill the time. Championship Manager 97/98 on the projector and a pint!

My other new addition! I always regretted not having a LAR shirt, but now I do. From his final season in Harchester, when he scored the goal v Spurs to keep the Dragons in the Premier League!

The first of 2 new shirts in my collection! One of the very rarest Dragons shirts, which I already had one other with Danny RAWSTHORNE 16 on. Finally have a shirt with the big man on, one I have always wanted!
Happy 25th birthday Championship Manager 97/98! Used to get in from school, put Radio 1 Chris Moyles on and play for hours. Spent so much time editing, doing transfers from Match Magazine. Honoured to be part of the
@cm9798
community, and the 2021 CM Cup winner!
Looking forward to the

lock-down live show! Got my Oldham away 1994-96 shirt on, drinking my 90s era Hooch and reading David Batty’s autobiography. Should be good preparation for the live show at The Lowry in November, if it still goes ahead!

Roy Butterworth is an absolute gentleman and a credit to our club. I emailed the club about getting a copy of his book and was told to call the shop directly. I called and was told they couldn’t, but to call Roy. Had a good chinwag, and he posted one out personally!

Didier Baptiste
Classy French World Cup winning centre-back, Baptiste wore the 21 shirt in 1999-2000. Taker of THAT penalty against Spurs that Ian Walker saved, then Rodriguez scored. Apparently nearly signed for Liverpool!
Others: Junior McDougald
Anyone who says Shez isn't an
#OAFC
legend is wrong. 415 matches as a player and manager. By my count, that puts him 8th in our 127 year history behind Jimmy Frizzell, Joe Royle, Ian Wood, Roger Palmer, George Hardwick, Andy Ritchie and Ronnie Blair. Some company he's in!

Teddy Lučić
Teddy Lučić is a real Championship Manager 97/98 legend, who can be picked up from IFK Gothenburg for about £200k. For a player with an ability rating of 163, that is a steal! Scored against Bayern Munich in the 1997/98 Champions League.
Going to try something ridiculous on Championship Manager 97/98, "The Brian Clough Challenge". Manage all his teams in order. Win at least his honours (that still exist) for the correct clubs. Hopefully my reputation will get me to Leeds after Brighton! Then again onto Forest.
All of my Oldham Athletic Corinthian Headliners repaints. Richard Jobson, Earl Barrett, Denis Irwin, Paul Warhurst and Mark Crossley with Joe Royle. Huge thanks to
@marcjbrine
for his amazing work, hope you have enjoyed seeing them.
P.S. Lord John ‘Shez’ Sheridan is coming soon!
What a night!

fans were absolutely amazing throughout, credit to them.
