I remember @rickperlstein leading a band of musicians through the aisles of the Brattle Theatre and out onto the street.

Congress has approved $40 million for Trump's stupid "Garden of American Heroes." Another reason I've got TES.

A charming, if rather sad, story in The Baffler by Dave Denison about the decline of bowling in America. The tale is familiar to those of us subjected to Robert Putnam, but here it's actually about bowling and the writing is filled with life. https://t.co/B76p2mgdke

Bowling is famously resistant to change. In our new issue, @DaveADenison wonders how long the sport can survive, as vulture capitalists buy up alleys around the country. https://t.co/vZYLUW3m4Q

Remember the long-lost Guerrilla Cookie, which was created by a @UWMadison alum and inspired many attempts at duplication? You can now buy the authentic item at select stores and online, with part of the proceeds benefiting conservation efforts. https://t.co/Y3luuBX1Gz

Our waiting issue is finally here. “Get in Line” features stories on the inevitable and the long-overdue: doomsdays and digital utopias, health care and political unity. They say patience is a virtue, but we’re on borrowed time. Start reading now. https://t.co/KGiI3KQmCs

CHOOSE YOUR PRECIPICE. The grist that makes modern life will run out at some point—when will we tap the last barrel of crude, blow through the remaining stocks of helium, deplete those rare metals…

Remember Guerilla Cookies, those hefty treats that became popular on the @UWMadison campus during the Vietnam-War era? If you’re one of the fans who lamented their demise, you’re in luck. Find out how you can once again get the cult-favorite snack. https://t.co/Y3luuBX1Gz

Once upon a time, left populism flourished in Texas. Where did it go? And might it reemerge, in a state that has become a Republican stronghold? @daveadenison tries to find out. https://t.co/mJDtiQlOCl

I think Trump is a one-off phenomenon, sort of like Huey Long. Once he's gone, he won't be replaced. The proof is that no one is trying harder to be Trump 2.0 than JD Vance and he's failing miserably. He doesn't have the touch, swagger, stupidity, or ability to lie Trump has.

Several experts noticed Trump’s speeches this year have included more short sentences, confused word order, repetition, and extended digressions compared to those he made in 2017.

Shifting from topic to topic, with few connections, is one of several disjointed and occasionally incoherent verbal habits that seem to have increased in Trump’s speech.
