In the age of pervasive digital infrastructures and algorithmic governance, understanding technics in relation to perception has deep ethical implications for agency and autonomy. #philosophy #technology

Humans live in engineered niches; physical, digital, hybrid. Feedback loops link body, environment, and technology, reshaping cognition, attention, memory, and social relations.

Technics coevolves with us, shaping how we perceive, think, and act. This paper builds on: • Ernst Kapp: organ-projection • Ernst Cassirer: symbolic forms • Gilbert Simondon: individuation

My new OA article in Humanities & Social Sciences Communications reframes classic ethological Umwelt as body + environment + technics, showing how technology coevolves with humans & reshapes perception, cognition, and ethics. 🔗 https://t.co/RwdqX45WRy #digital #ethics

Update on @ESBNetworks shows still 39,000 premises without power with many international crews helping ESB and doing Trojan work. Sadly those 39k premises head into their 10th night with no power and their energy providers will still charge them a standing charge for those days!

Sometimes an interview stays with you long after recording for news. John McDonagh from An Cheathrú Rua is 82 and is unwell and freezing cold since the storm knocked out his electricity in Conemara 5 days ago #storm #Conemara #gaeltacht

5th day without power and heat. Estimated restoration time is in another 8 days. Ill with colds. Young children freezing at night. Absent government and no assistance. Take the Apple tax and rehaul infrastructure, bury power lines. #StormÉowyn #Ireland #Connemara

Lying here attempting to describe this feeling to myself. It’s like you’re trying to sleep in a thin little tent and you can hear a colossal dragon right outside, screaming because it wants to tear down the entire world. #StormEowyn

The wind sounds demented, the world cracked. Never heard wind like it. Genuinely fearing for the roof, lying listening to this roar. #StormEowyn

That high resolution AROME model out to 9am shows gusts I’ve never seen this model show before for Ireland and this model is one of the best there is for Ireland. Anyone saying this is just another storm is in for a rude awakening. This will be an historic storm. #StormÉowyn

Today, the occupation killed my colleague, journalist Saed Nabhan, nephew of Khaled, soul of my soul. The sniper bullet entered his chest and exited his back.  Are we just numbers to this world? At this point, every journalist in Gaza is just waiting for their turn to be murdered

Was not expecting it from Politico, but this is the best headline I’ve seen for the new Lancet study. If you’re going to report on the massive death toll in Gaza, you should mention who is killing Palestinians.
