One of my favorite traditions of every college football season:. @edsbs and @HollyAnderson publishing their annual kickoff essays: “The Opener.”. Worth the @Channel6_feed annual subscription just for these (but two amazing things per week is great, too.).

Fun to be colleagues with @williamfleitch - I am not editing his column, but I consider this a bookend to Will letting me write a weekly college football column for (original) Deadspin for the 2007 season. The commenters truly appreciated my enthusiasm for Tim Tebow that season.

Two years ago I met Kansas star QB Jalon Daniels. Hearing about his path really resonated with me especially the way he told his story. He’s a Southern California kid in the same loaded quarterback class as Bryce Young, DJ Uiagalelei and CJ Stroud. He was ranked behind 22 other.

I love reading “Trade Grades” as a format. I also was immersed in the ESPN-NFL asset swap this week for @TheAthletic. That was just as much of a blockbuster trade as you’ll see between any two teams. So I did “Trade Grades” for the deal (edited by @dcsportsbog, no less!).⬇️.

RedZone is my favorite TV show ever, a top 5 TV show of all time. @ScottHanson once gave my kid a shout-out ahead of the TD Montage. I’d love for “College Football RedZone” to work, but… the same unique factors that make NFL RZ so successful don’t map to CFB. Wrote about it ⬇️.
