The approach to VAR should be:. * It's a really hard job. * We now have technology and a team of people trying to do their best to get it right. * The ref is just part of that team and they have the hardest job so are most likely to get stuff wrong.

What sits at core of the VAR issues in PL is a desire to protect the status & authority of the on-field referee. This is outdated. Has to be "clear and obvious" to overturn -> natural bias to the ref. Dean admits as VAR didn't wanna embarrass mates -> maintains ref's status.

Ødergaard always looks so much quicker than any other player around him. I don’t mean his running speed. It’s like so much more is happening per second. More touches, more body adjustments, more movements, more position scans. Like his individual video runs on a different feed.

Three in three for Martinelli and it's gonna be very hard to resist the idea that you get so much more from him with Trossard (or Jesus) up front rather than Nketiah. Martinelli + Trossard > Martinelli + Nketiah.
