I’m struggling with this Burnley - Everton postponement.
Yesterday the premier league rejected a request to call it off due to covid cases. Today the premier league say it’s off due to “further injuries”
Are we now calling games off for injuries? That’s very different to covid?
Given Billy Kee's status & the increasing importance of mental health in sport maybe
@ASFCofficial
could retire his number 29 & give it to a mental health charity? They could promote their website or helpline in the programme, online etc & establish a permanent link?
All the best to Sean Dyche. One of the good guys. His achievements at Burnley speak for themselves and he was always a consummate pro but friendly and had a laugh. I’ve had some stick over the years but it was good fun
Any excuse to retweet this…

8 points or wins over Colchester & Exeter. Whatever comes first. That’s what secures

promotion.
Let’s briefly forget the budget, burgers & milk advert talk. A superb group of players & staff who are more consistent, and frankly better, than most in L2. Been superb 🔴⚪️
I can only thank JC & JB.
Without their success on the pitch I may not have made a career in this industry. They kept me on my toes but have been part of my Stanley family from minute 1. So many memories & put our little part of Lancashire in the spotlight 🔴⚪️
#asfc
This picture is brilliant 😂
Say what you like about the managerial achievements of Clough, Ferguson or Guardiola but have any of them ever been ridden like a horse by a rascal scouse winger who used to work in Primark??

It’s 56 years this week since Accrington Stanley exited the Football League. They’re a point off the top of League 2 and could well win the most remarkable of titles.
#Accrington
should be proud of its team. Don’t miss history happening 🔴⚪️
There’s no club like

At a time when watching
#ASFC
is a tough something to warm the heart. Billy Kee is an interested spectator at the Pirelli as former club Burton host the Reds. First time he’s seen team mates in 8 months. Don’t get carried away. Small steps. But great to see him

I have commentated for the last time this season. No Pompey for me. Big thanks to all the staff & players for their time & insight on iFollow (something you don’t get from most clubs) & mostly thanks to all who listened, watched & got involved

For those of you unaccustomed to watching

Yes coley regularly puts a striker on for a defender when winning.
Yes, they often play like this.
Yes, they really do believe they belong at the top end of this league. Superb
If you were at Turf Moor tonight pat yourself on the back. Terrific noise throughout. Especially the goal and at full time. Burnley are back. And well and truly in the fight to stay up. Great night

League Two champions have kids having a kickabout on the pitch after the game. Wonderfully, timelessly tinpot. Heart of the community

Have to say I had a right old chuckle at this when I saw it. It’s the logical next step in “teams like Accrington”
Really surprises me to see an experienced lower league player come out with this. But
#asfc
should wear it like a badge of honour
Here we go again then. Best job in the world (bar playing) and after far too long doing it properly with supporters in the stadium. Whoever you’re going to watch today, enjoy it like never before. It’s been a long wait
Lovely little touch from
@ASFCofficial
before the opening game against Newport County - a tribute to Phil Carter. He was the dressing room/tunnel steward for many years. He died at the end of last season.
@BBCLancsSport
Rodders once told me that being on the pitch was the best & safest he felt. He’s decided he can’t do that with the pressure of the FL any more. It’s important he gets the chance to do it & enjoy it somewhere though.
Pray for the centre halves

A Derby player on a leading satellite broadcaster today.
He doesn't know what the ground is like... but imagines it's bad.
Doesn't know what the pitch is like... but imagines it's bobbly.
Expects the non-league team to "rough up" the young players...
Lazy, cliched rubbish. Yawn

's game with Derby's kids today that the Magpies aren't some ageing team of non-league journeymen. 5 of their last starting 11 under 23 themselves. 7 out of the 16. A number of teenagers in the squad too. Only 1 player over 30 in the squad
Attention Frank Lampard: it’s in Lancashire. Between Burnley and Blackburn. Bring a coat. And not too many backroom staff cos there’s not a lot of room 😉

First time in 17 years stealing a living doing this broadcasting malarkey here... Just caught the ball. And found Seamus Conneely with my return throw. Career highlight

Delighted for Wycombe. Proper football club. Great manager. Superb people behind the scenes. And an honorary Accringtonian scoring the winner. They've all been a credit to you
@mattcecil87
- enjoy it
As much as it will forever be a "what might have been" season for
#asfc
it's a very impressive top half finish with a decent record against the top clubs. Improve against the lower teams, build on this good squad in some key areas and higher than eleventh is achievable next year
Was a pleasure to meet Vitinho last night… I think someone needs to get the lad a big coat though. He’s yet to adjust to the East Lancashire climate…!

This is clearly something that personally impacts on Coley.
I know Billy is unlikely to see or hear this but I hope he and the people around him know that people are thinking of him and it's nothing to do with football. We're rooting for you Rodders

People of Accy, Hyndburn & Lancashire: Stanley needs you.
It’s not about 3 pts or the league table. It’s not about hospitality or sponsors. It’s not about the shiny new bar or the changing rooms.
It’s about being there to play your part in history.

better today than in that boshing of Bolton for me... Bishop & Charles dangerous & clinical, huge threat from wide areas & strong defensively. Great credit to Bursik on his league debut but a word for Conneely & Finley who dominated midfield especially second half. Fine win
I’m struggling with people who criticise Seamus Conneely’s contribution to this Stanley team. Saturday and tonight he’s been key to everything they’ve done well. Composed. Hard working. Smells danger.
He isn’t going to slam the ball into the top corner from 40 yards. Not his job
A fortnight ago I was doing commentary prep for a trip to Old Trafford. Today it’s prep for

Coley on Billy Kee:
"We knew he was going to come today and it was good to see him. He wants what's best for the club & the players & wants to support us. I'm sure we'll see him at the wham stadium soon & the fans can give him the plaudits he deserves"

@BBCLancsSport
A year of behind closed doors football has made the most avaricious & cynical clubs & owners realise they don’t need actual supporters. Football is a reality show they want to control. The mistake is thinking of them as football clubs. They’re corporations now. They don’t care
If Sean Dyche thinks he's old fashioned for wanting tackling to stay in the game then I'm old fashioned too.
Think he's right that they sometimes haven't tackled enough. And spot on that there are double standards RE diving etc
@AndyPayton10
Ladies and gents - Bill Holden. Absolute embodiment of the

Asked him what EW would make of it. He replied “get off the pitch & get those effing lights off”
Terrible situation for Billy. He hasn't been far from anyone's thoughts since pre-season training resumed and I don't see that changing. The

issue a statement on the absence of striker Billy Kee.
"Billy Kee would like to thank everyone for their ongoing messages of support as he battles depression, anxiety and bulimia."
The club are thanking everyone who have sent messages of support
Found myself talking about Jimmy on the radio this morning. Although I've always been well aware of his standing in football, to me he's always just been "Dany's dad"
Made me laugh with his anecdotes and recollections. Always warm and friendly. A huge loss.
Love you Danes x

It’s a measure of the sort of person Tom Heaton is that he’s spent much of half time at the corner of the Burnley dugout signing things for fans and having selfies taken. For some of these kids this’ll be a lasting memory. Small ground & up close & personal. Bravo

Just seen it again... red card for Conneely is scandalous. He’s clearly attempted to make a tackle. The rule was changed to prevent being punished by a penalty & a red when there’s an attempt to win the ball. It’s absolutely dreadful from an experienced ref & changed the game
The

@BBCLancsSport
I understand why

supporters might play down the contribution of Jordan Clark to soften the blow of losing him but for me he’s been consistently brilliant for a number of seasons. A massive task to replace him but he deserves a crack at the Championship. Terrific chap too
Just had a chat with

Looks like Morecambe could have a new manager appointed by the end of the day. Expecting an announcement at some point this afternoon. Some big calls needed quickly on the future of a lot of the players who got them promoted
Regardless of who Stanley get in the fourth round it’ll be more progress & more financial stability.
More impressive still to do it without a number of regulars & with loan players no longer around
When
@marcusbettss
was on loan at

he was so impressive on and off the field that I said I thought he would play for England. One step closer if this is confirmed. Couldn't happen to a better bloke

It’s defeat for
