I love abrasive, crass, bitter, mistrustful women who use their off-putting attitudes as armor for their deeply kind and wounded hearts, and so should you

yes and it’s why people who spend all their time on the internet not in real communities become so extremely cynical and bitter about humanity. most people are nice, actually, if you go out and talk to them

I don’t really care what zionists think intifada means and you shouldn’t either. This is an anticolonial anti-imperialist liberation struggle and that’s been made very clear for decades. You don’t need to sugarcoat or compromise language to please liberals.

when you’ve been with someone for 4+ years it starts feeling a little silly to use the words girlfriend/boyfriend. that’s literally my wife. no we aren’t married or even engaged how would we pay for that we can barely afford rent. but that’s irrelevant. that’s my wife

I hear someone use that word and any possibility of future friendship or collaboration is off the table immediately. Are you 13 years old? Does it make you feel good to belittle those who are different than you?

just so we’re clear using they/them pronouns consistently for people who do not use those pronouns is still misgendering lmfao

The opposite is also true that career academics begin to develop an ego and assume expertise on topics over people who have lived experience btw
I’ve realized it’s almost impossible to avoid de-intellectualization once you leave the university scene. I try my best to read at least 15+ books a year, I take courses, volunteer etc. but there’s still nothing like the environment of a university which constantly engages you
