Just pull out of the Olympics and reschedule the NHL games. I don't understand the desire to watch Olympic hockey anyway. I can watch teams full of NHL players play each other by watching the NHL...

I could be totally wrong here, but if more than 1 team is assigning you to the AHL, perhaps the path to the NHL isn't to refuse to play in the AHL, but to go out and prove yourself and earn a spot on an NHL team?

What sucks about this behavior is that it's going to translate right into youth hockey. Kids see this and think it's acceptable. It's not acceptable at any level of play and MacKinnon needs to get a grip.

This was terrible. Not only is it weird to bring the cup out mid season like this, but Florida isn’t even sitting in a playoff spot and are dancing around with a cup that’s not even theirs anymore. This whole event reached new levels of cringe.

Let’s see. The PHPA’s original ask was a 20% increase in wages, the ECHL’s offer was 4%. The tentative agreement calls for a 20% increase. Also, mandatory day off every 7 days. 2 days off after 3 in 3’s. All Star and holiday breaks extended. Collective action works!

Being a scab is not the path to professional hockey.
Strike update: ECHL intends to play as many scheduled games as possible during strike. If 2 scheduled teams can roster a minimum 13 skaters, 2 goalies, games will be played as scheduled. If not, game will be postponed. Expect most if not all games scheduled today to be postponed.
