Companies aren't prepared for this. Capital markets have no sense of it. Yet climate legislation marches forward. We are supporters of carbon tariffs and want to help build solutions. Meanwhile, we update our models. 😬.

The implications on Silicon would be huge causing a disruption on solar panels, microchips/ PCBA's, silicon anodes for LIB, alloys. no point in just producing silicon w/ the same carbon process locally. maybe time to make a move on one of #Humanity's biggest gem @HPQ_Silicon.

A carbon tariff would require every company to have a detailed provenance of the energy used to produce a good or service entering a border. Love that iPhone case? It's price will depend on how much coal was burned in China to make it. More coal == more tariff == more cost.

High Purity Silicon & Si-NP prod. It's in everything, the next crude oil. But cannot be found naturally, must be refined. Energy storage(Li-ion bat), Energy production (Hydrogen & solar), Medical (Drug delivery), Aluminum alloys. the list goes on. High cost production! #PUREVAP.
