There’s plenty of genuinely amazing books here, but can’t we broaden our minds a bit more and go a bit deeper with reading choices?.

So often I find these “Top 100 Books” or “Best Books of all time” lists and two themes consistently emerge in my eyes; the lack of female authors (just two in this list of 100) and the lack of contemporary fiction and non-fiction/ history books.

Today’s anecdotal example—I was trying to find the original publication date of a book. Google and its AI Overview flagged three different years, all of which were incorrect. I found the actual year published because I had a physical copy of the book that I could reference.

An often overlooked aspect of the current state of the internet and the promulgation of AI is the steep decline in quick, reliable access to basic information and facts. This pairs very well with the rise of Trumpism and the lauding of, frankly, stupidity in governance.
