Disagree. Digging up decade old tweets show a pattern. He is a person who has no respect for women or their autonomy and he has been given a platform as a respected person in the society. Societal outrage is very necessary.
And I'm not even justifying said person's actions but your response should ideally be quoting or replying his thread with "what you've done is wrong" and promptly moving on with your life. Digging up decade old tweets to justify your outrage is quite frankly unhinged.
